What's the best way to get there?
Most guests will be arriving from Paris or Bordeaux. Here are the best travel options:
✈️ From Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport (closest airport)
- 1-hour drive to Saint-Séverin.
- Car hire is available at the airport.
- Prebooked taxis are also an option.
🚄 From Paris
- Take the high-speed TGV train (2 hours) to Angoulême, which is 45 minutes from Saint-Séverin.
- From Angoulême, either hire a car or prebook a taxi.
🚆 From Bordeaux
- By Car: 1 hour 40 minutes from Bordeaux Airport (recommended if you're comfortable driving on the right side of the road).
- By Train: A 1-hour train (limited service) from Bordeaux to Montmoreau, which is 20 minutes from Saint-Séverin. You’ll need to prebook a taxi from Montmoreau.
- Note: If traveling from Bordeaux Airport, hiring a car is often easier since the shuttle bus to the train station takes about 30 minutes.
🚐 Prebooked Transport
- We can arrange with the Château to have minibuses take people directly from Dordogne airport.
- Reach out to Elliott and Lily if you’d like to arrange this service.
The town of Saint-Séverin is within walking distance from the Chateau, but taxi services are also available.
There will also be multiple guests with their own vehicles or hire cars, including most of the Chateau guests.
The area
The chateau is conveniently located on the border between Charente and Dordogne, therefore you’ll be able to easily explore both regions from there.
In the local village of St Séverin, you’ll find all the amenities including classic French bakeries and food shops. The town of Ribérac, 10 min away, offers one of the biggest markets in the area where you’ll be able to source truffles, foie gras and local delicacies.
Another favourite place of ours is Aubeterre sur Dronne (15 min away), classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France.
This village hosts a monolithic, underground church unique in the world. Also you can take the opportunity to swim in the Dronne there.

How does accommodation work?
We have booked accommodations for all of our wedding guests from the 8th to the 11th of August.
You will be contacted by us with where you will be staying and any costs involved. We'd love for everyone to either stay on site or close to the property as possible so we have booked out the most suited accommodation in the area.
We're still placing everyone but we promise we're taking into consideration the price and who you will be staying with when making these arrangements.
Your accommodations will be lovely, but they will be mainly just for sleeping and downtime, as we invite everyone to hang out at the Château and explore the nearby towns during the stay.
When/how should I RSVP
Please RSVP at your earliest convenience, but it is first-come, first-served in terms of accommodations.
You can RSVP by letting Lily or Elliott know.
Wedding gifts
We understand that an international wedding is a big ask, and your presence is the greatest gift we could ask for. No gifts required!
The weather
August is the tail end of summer in France, though it will still be very warm! We are also inland so it will be hot, dress accordingly and bring your bathers.
Photography
We encourage all guests to take as many photos as you like over the wedding weekend with whatever camera you like.
During the ceremony we ask that all smartphones are kept in pockets or handbags.
Food and drinks information
Food and drink will be provided on the Wedding Day.
Depending on your accommodation the days before and after you will have access to the multiple kitchens on site to prepare food or you may visit the surrounding towns and dine out.
For those that are staying in nearby accommodation use your facilities.
On recovery day (10th august) we will host a BBQ and enjoy the beautiful swimming pool at the Chateau.
If you have any allergies or food requirements please let us know as soon as possible!
